Born in 1976, Tanya Viner, grew up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and immigrated to Israel at the age of 20.  She currently lives and creates in Tirat Carmel, Israel. Tanya graduated with a teaching certificate art in Oranim and is currently a student at the University of Haifa in completing her art degree. She also holds a B.A. in Geography from 2000. Tanya studied in private classes with artist Rita Katz, among others.

Her works involve print and paint media. She works in oil on canvas while in print, Tanya uses techniques as diverse as stencils, linoleum cuts, engraving and monotype print on paper.

 

She creates small to medium scale pieces, and her artistic style may be classified as figurative and influenced by Impressionism.

In her work she focuses on portraits of people from her surroundings, and works with family photo albums and photographs of herself. Her works create a dialogue with black and white photography with an emphasis on the characters' look.
